Premier Education is recruiting experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants for daily cover and long-term opportunities in primary schools across Manchester.

These roles are ideal for adaptable and confident teaching assistants who can quickly become part of a school team, support learning effectively and provide ad hoc classroom cover when required.

Level 3 Teaching Assistant - About the schools

We work with welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Manchester, supporting pupils from Early Years through to Year 6.

Schools are looking for experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistants who can work confidently alongside teachers while taking responsibility for planned activities and targeted intervention groups.

You may support pupils with:

  • Phonics and early reading

  • Reading fluency and comprehension

  • Writing, spelling and grammar

  • Mathematics and early number skills

  • Speech, language and communication

  • Special educational needs and disabilities

  • Confidence, independence and classroom engagement

  • Social, emotional and behavioural needs



Level 3 Teaching Assistant - The roles

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will provide experienced classroom support, deliver targeted interventions and lead planned activities with individuals, groups or whole classes.

Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing general classroom support across different year groups

  • Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions

  • Leading structured phonics, literacy and numeracy sessions

  • Helping pupils close gaps in their learning

  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

  • Using teacher guidance to adapt activities for individual pupils

  • Monitoring progress and providing clear feedback to teaching staff

  • Preparing learning resources and supporting classroom organisation

  • Promoting positive behaviour, engagement and independence

  • Leading planned learning activities in the teacher's absence

  • Providing ad hoc cover for classes when required

  • Managing a class confidently and delivering work set by the teacher

  • Maintaining established routines and expectations

  • Following each school's safeguarding and behaviour policies

Daily cover assignments may involve working across different schools, classes and year groups. Long-term roles may include responsibility for a consistent intervention timetable, regular classroom support or ongoing cover within a particular key stage.



Level 3 Teaching Assistant -Requirements

We would like to hear from candidates who:

  • Hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

  • Have recent and relevant experience working in a primary school

  • Can adapt quickly to different schools, classes and routines

  • Are confident supporting pupils across the primary age range

  • Have experience leading one-to-one and small-group interventions

  • Can deliver phonics, literacy or numeracy activities effectively

  • Are comfortable providing ad hoc classroom cover

  • Can manage behaviour positively and maintain classroom routines

  • Understand the expectations of the primary curriculum

  • Can work independently and use their initiative

  • Communicate effectively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

  • Are reliable and available from 8.30am until 3.30pm
