Are you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking for a more specialist and varied role?

Protocol Education are working with a specialist provision in Gateshead that is looking for a confident TA to support children and young people with physical and/or medical needs.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working as part of a specialist team and finding practical ways to help children access their education.

The Role Includes
  • Supporting children and young people to access learning.
  • Adapting activities and resources to individual needs.
  • Supporting pupils with physical and medical considerations.
  • Using and implementing assistive technology.
  • Setting up and checking specialist equipment.
  • Supporting alternative methods of communication and recording.
  • Helping pupils develop independence.
  • Working with specialist teachers, schools, families and professionals.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback.
  • Ensuring equipment and support strategies are used safely.
Essential Criteria
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Experience supporting physical and/or medical needs.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence using ICT and learning new technology.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work across different settings.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential due to the nature of the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
