Load Shovel Operator – Immediate Start | £500 Starting Bonus

Location: Colne BB8 8LB
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 47.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday + every 3rd Saturday
Start Time: 6:00am
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

£500 Starting Bonus

Receive a £500 starting bonus, paid in two instalments:

• £250 after successfully completing 6 weeks of work
• £250 after successfully completing 12 weeks of work

We are currently looking for an experienced Load Shovel Operator to join a leading waste management operation in Colne.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator to secure ongoing work with an established and reputable employer.

Immediate availability is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a loading shovel for the processing and loading of recyclable materials.
• Load, move, and process waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily machinery and equipment checks and report any defects.
• Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely.
• Promptly clear any spillages and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Operate machinery responsibly while following all Health & Safety procedures.
• Support with weighbridge administration duties when required.
• Work effectively as part of the wider waste management team.

Requirements Essential

• Valid Load Shovel licence/certificate.
• Previous experience operating a loading shovel.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Reliable and responsible approach to work.
• Immediate availability preferred.
