Logistics Coordinator

SkySpecs · Direct employer

At SkySpecs, we're pioneering the future of renewable energy through cutting-edge robotics, and we're looking for a meticulous Logistics Coordinator to keep our field teams flying. Based near Newcastle Airport, you'll be the lynchpin ensuring our drone and crawler equipment reaches technicians across the UK and Europe-exactly when and where it's needed. If you thrive on the detail of international shipping, have a passion for technology, and want to play a vital part in a global business powering the green transition, this is your opportunity.

The Role

You'll join our European Inspection Services team, taking ownership of all equipment logistics for our pan-European pilots and technicians. This is an office-based, hands-on role where you'll configure, maintain, document, and track our advanced robotics fleet. Working closely with project managers, compliance, and our US logistics counterpart, you'll adapt to ever-changing project schedules and be the go-to person for everything from urgent customs fixes to statutory equipment inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project schedules in advance, shipping drone and rover equipment between depots and pilots to meet precise deployment needs.
  • React swiftly to last-minute schedule changes, re-routing assets to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Prepare and scrutinise all shipping documentation, including carnets, T1/T2 transit documents, customs paperwork, and dangerous goods declarations for lithium batteries.
  • Track shipments, troubleshoot customs delays, and resolve errors to minimise disruption to field teams.
  • Procure new equipment and parts, assemble and maintain drones, crawlers, cameras, and PPE to engineering guidelines.
  • Perform statutory inspections of PPE to ensure LOLER compliance and manage L2/L3 servicing with third-party suppliers.
  • Monitor the regional logistics budget, report on costs, and identify efficiencies to improve project margins.
What You'll Need

Essential:

  • At least 3 years' experience coordinating asset logistics for a field service organisation, with constant movement of tooling and equipment via parcel shipping.
  • Proven experience with UK/EU import/export procedures, carnets, and T1/T2 documentation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of shipping lithium batteries in compliance with IATA/IMDG regulations.
  • Practical experience maintaining and tracking field service equipment, robotics, drones, ROVs, or similar inspection technology.
  • Proficiency with courier systems (UPS, DHL, etc.), logistics documentation, and KPIs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands independently.

Desirable:

  • Ability to speak Spanish or German in addition to fluent English.
  • A full UK driving licence for occasional ad-hoc equipment transportation.
What's On Offer
  • Salary of £28,000 to £34,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm working hours.
  • Occasional opportunities for travel within Europe.
  • The chance to work with advanced robotics in a fast-growing renewable energy company.

This role requires the right to work in the UK; we are unable to provide visa sponsorship. If you're a self-motivated logistics professional ready to make a tangible impact on the future of clean energy, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to join the SkySpecs team.
