Logistics Operator - Forklift Driver

Location: Southminster
Start Date: Immediate Start
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Shifts: 12-hour rotating days and nights (7:00am to 7:00pm), including weekends and bank holidays during peak season

Pay: £14 per hour. After 40 hours overtime is paid at time and a half.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy manufacturing site in Southminster. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with forklift experience looking for long-term work with the potential of a permanent position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging, finished goods, and bales across the site, helping to keep production and logistics operations running smoothly during the busy harvest season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently
• Load, unload, move and store materials across the site
• Supply production areas with required materials and ingredients
• Complete stock movement and distribution records accurately
• Use scanners, printers and warehouse systems as required
• Carry out effective shift handovers
• Maintain high housekeeping and health & safety standards
• Support warehouse, logistics and production teams when needed

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence with a minimum of 6 months' experience
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse or logistics environment
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Basic computer skills
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work

Desirable:

• Telehandler or shunter experience (training can be provided)

This is a seasonal role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the operation and seasonal demands.
