Machine Build Fitter

We’re looking for a Machine Build Fitter to join a bespoke engineering and manufacturing business in Chorley.

This is a role suited to someone with mechanical fitting experience, as you will be supporting machine build, fitting, maintenance and site-based engineering work.

• Mon – Thu | 7:30am – 4pm
• Fri | 7:30am – 12:30pm

What will you be doing as a Machine Build Fitter?

• Supporting machine build and mechanical fitting work
• Carrying out general maintenance fitting duties
• Working on mainly mechanical and some electrical tasks
• Marking out work areas and keeping them clean
• Polishing, grinding and fettling components
• Using manual milling equipment when required
• Carrying out precision fitting work
• Supporting basic fault finding
• Changing sockets and assisting with simple electrical tasks
• Working on site when required, including travel to customer locations
• Supporting machinery resets and roller adjustments

What will you need?

• Previous mechanical fitting or machine build experience
• Basic fault-finding ability
• A flexible, hands-on approach to engineering work
• Willingness to support site-based work when required
