Hunters’ client, a world-leading engineering company, are looking for an experienced and motivated Machine Shop & Fabrication Supervisor to join their friendly and supportive manufacturing team.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the CNC machine shop and sheet metal fabrication areas, leading a skilled team and ensuring production targets, quality standards and delivery requirements are consistently achieved.

Machine Shop & Fabrication Supervisor - The Role
  • Supervise the daily operations of the CNC machine shop and sheet metal fabrication areas
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to meet production and customer delivery requirements
  • Coordinate CNC machining, punch press, waterjet cutting and associated manufacturing processes
  • Monitor productivity, machine utilisation and labour efficiency
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency
  • Assist with performance reviews, return-to-work meetings and absence management
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation, including 5S
  • Support capacity planning and resource allocation to maximise production output
Machine Shop & Fabrication Supervisor - About You 
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong practical knowledge of CNC machining, particularly milling and/or turning
  • Experience within sheet metal fabrication, with knowledge of punch press and/or waterjet cutting highly desirable
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles would be advantageous
