Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Mail & Porterage Supervisor to lead a small, well-established team of four, overseeing porterage, business moves, mailroom operations, courier services and invoicing on a steady, high-profile site.
This is a hands-on supervisory role focused on ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality service delivery across all aspects of mailroom and porterage operations. The position requires a strong operational presence, ensuring all services run efficiently while maintaining excellent standards for customers and site stakeholders.
The successful candidate will take ownership of team performance, compliance, and service delivery against contractual requirements, reporting into the Assistant Building Manager. A strong focus on stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, and driving continuous improvements will be essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily mail and porterage operations, ensuring delivery in line with service requirements and SLAs
- Lead, manage and develop a team of four, including conducting 1-1s, performance reviews and objective setting
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and COSHH standards, including risk assessments
- Manage mailroom services, porterage, meeting room setups, business moves and courier services
- Monitor budgets, control costs and provide accurate reporting in line with contract requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, customers and internal teams
- Drive continuous service improvement through performance monitoring, feedback and action planning
- Promote a collaborative ‘one team’ culture through clear communication and regular engagement
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
- Experience in a porterage or similar operational environment (preferred)
- Proven experience managing a small team, including performance management processes
- Experience with financial management, including budgets and invoicing
- Comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on service improvement
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Numerate and confident using technology and systems
- A proactive, professional and collaborative approach to work
