Maintenance Assistant in Bristol, Gloucestershire

Pay Rate: £15.00 – £19.00 per hour
Job Type: Ongoing Temporary Contract
Hours: 4 days during the week 0900 - 1700 (Mon to Fri - you're choice which 4 days) & Saturdays 0600 - 1400 

The Role

Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant / Handy Person to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Bristol.

This is an ongoing temporary position, supporting the engineering and maintenance teams with general site maintenance, repairs and upkeep.

The role will involve a variety of hands-on maintenance tasks across the site, excluding work on production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out general site maintenance and repairs.

• Basic plumbing and minor repairs.

• Painting and maintaining designated safety areas.

• Hanging doors, signs and fixtures.

• Filling holes and general building upkeep.

• Replacing light bulbs and minor fittings.

• Maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping within engineering workshops.

• Supporting the engineering team with general maintenance duties.

The Person

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar maintenance or hands-on role.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Assistant, Handy Person, Semi-Skilled Fitter or Service Technician.

• Good general maintenance and DIY skills.

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, painting and building repairs.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills and a proactive approach.

• Relevant industry qualifications would be advantageous.
