Looking for a static Maintenance Electrician role with a better work-life balance and long-term job security?
A permanent opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join a facilities management business delivering electrical and building maintenance at a large distribution site in Cumbernauld.
Working Monday to Friday, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance, helping to keep the site operating safely and efficiently. This is a static position, with no daily travel between customer locations, although a full UK driving licence is required for use of a pool vehicle while participating in the standby rota.
The Role
Working as part of the on-site engineering team, you'll carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a busy distribution environment.
You'll be responsible for fault finding, maintaining electrical systems, ensuring statutory compliance and supporting the smooth operation of the site through high-quality maintenance work.
This role would suit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Electrician or Facilities Maintenance Electrician with a background in commercial, industrial or facilities management environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules.
- Respond to reactive electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Fault find on single and three-phase electrical systems.
- Test and maintain emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
- Carry out minor electrical installations and alterations.
- Maintain electrical compliance records and complete all documentation accurately.
- Identify equipment requiring replacement and provide recommendations.
- Conduct site surveys and produce maintenance reports when required.
- Carry out basic building maintenance duties where appropriate.
- Liaise with site management to minimise operational disruption.
- Order materials in line with company procedures.
- Participate in a 24/7 standby and call-out rota.
- Work safely at all times, following Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
What You'll Need
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance.
- City & Guilds 2382 / 18th Edition.
- Experience carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding skills on single and three-phase electrical systems.
- Experience maintaining electrical plant and associated mechanical equipment.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
- AM2 and/or City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
