Maintenance Engineer – East Scotland

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading industrial organisation at their Dundee site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to take responsibility for maintenance activities across plant equipment, utilities and site infrastructure, ensuring high levels of safety, reliability and plant availability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure plant and utility equipment operates safely and reliably.
  • Plan maintenance activities and coordinate internal and external resources.
  • Manage and supervise maintenance contractors working on site.
  • Create, issue and review Permit-to-Work documentation using RAP4.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections and equipment examinations.
  • Manage procurement of spare parts, materials and specialist engineering services.
  • Work closely with operations to prioritise maintenance and minimise downtime.
  • Support maintenance budgets and control expenditure.
  • Supervise capital project work where required.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will have experience working within a manufacturing, process, chemical, energy, oil & gas or other industrial environment.

Therefore, to be successful you should have:

  • Proven maintenance engineering experience within an industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Experience planning and coordinating maintenance programmes.
  • Experience managing and supervising contractors.
  • Knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems and risk assessments.
  • Experience with maintenance budgets and procurement.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation and industrial safety practices.
  • Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering or a related discipline.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within a COMAH or highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of asset management and reliability improvement.
  • Experience with HAZOP studies.
  • Experience managing statutory inspection programmes.
