We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established international business operating within a busy production environment in Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance engineer looking to join a stable organisation where you will play an important role in maintaining and improving the reliability of a busy manufacturing operation.
THE ROLE
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the site, helping to keep machinery running safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.
You will respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out repairs across a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. You will also contribute to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activities to improve machinery reliability and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across production equipment.
- Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, belts, bearings, sensors, control systems and associated plant.
- Identify recurring faults and support improvements to machinery reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and engineering paperwork.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate spare-parts stock.
- Work safely and in accordance with site engineering and health & safety procedures.
- Support the wider engineering and production teams when required.
- Previous experience working in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing, production, FMCG, food, logistics or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience working with motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, sensors and valves.
- Good knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy production environment.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and machinery reliability.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- £49,000 salary.
- 12-hour shift pattern covering days and nights.
