Maintenance Engineer

We're supporting a well-established FMCG manufacturer in their search for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced production environment where you'll play a key role in keeping machinery running efficiently and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Maintenance Engineer
Shift: Panama Days & Nights (7-7)
Salary: £55,000
Location: Leicestershire

What you'll be doing:

• You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, ensuring everything runs safely and reliably.
• This includes carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding quickly to breakdowns, and identifying recurring issues to help drive long-term improvements.
• You'll also keep accurate records of work completed, manage spare parts where needed, and support small projects across the site.
• Be involved in mentoring apprentices, sharing knowledge, and working closely with both production and engineering colleagues to keep operations on track.

What we're looking for:

• You'll have a solid grounding in electrical and/or mechanical engineering, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• A recognised qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is essential, along with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Experience in a similar role, such as (electrical maintenance engineer, multi skilled engineer, shift engineer, engineering technician, maintenance technician, electro-mechanical engineer)
• A flexible attitude towards shifts and a strong focus on safety and hygiene standards are also important.
