Maintenance Engineering Trainer / Assessor

Salary: £29,500 – £32,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to move away from the tools and into training?

We are working with an established engineering training provider in Telford who is looking for a Maintenance Engineering Trainer / Assessor to train and develop apprentices across mechanical and electrical maintenance.

No teaching experience is required. If you're coming directly from industry, full training can be provided, including funded teaching and assessor qualifications.

The Role

You'll deliver a mixture of practical workshop and classroom-based training, covering areas such as mechanical maintenance, electrical systems, fault finding, preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.

You'll also assess apprentices, monitor their progress, provide feedback and support them throughout their programme.

What We're Looking For

You'll need:

  • Level 3 Maintenance Engineering qualification or equivalent
  • Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
  • Strong fault-finding and repair experience
  • Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance
  • GCSE Maths & English Grade 4/C or equivalent

Knowledge of PLCs or automated systems would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Previous teaching or assessing experience would be beneficial, but industry engineers looking to move into training are encouraged to apply.
