Are you an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer ready to take the next step into management, or an established Maintenance Manager looking for a fresh challenge?

Our client is a well-established and growing national specialist within the Industrial Refrigeration sector, renowned for delivering high-quality service, maintenance and project solutions across a wide range of industrial and commercial customers.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to lead their South East engineering team.

The Role

Based from the Ashford area, you'll be responsible for managing a team of Field Service Engineers across the South East, ensuring planned preventative maintenance and reactive service activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working closely with the Service Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting engineers, driving operational performance, maintaining customer relationships and ensuring excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of five Industrial Refrigeration Engineers.
• Manage engineer performance, productivity and utilisation.
• Support the planning and delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the engineering team.
• Carry out site visits, engineer audits and customer meetings.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
• Monitor KPIs, service performance and customer satisfaction.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Manager to improve operational efficiency.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of engineers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across the region.

About You

• Previous experience within Industrial Refrigeration.
• Proven experience leading or supervising engineering teams, or looking to step up from a Senior Engineer position.
• Strong technical knowledge of ammonia (NH₃), CO₂ and industrial refrigeration systems.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Ability to support engineers both technically and operationally.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
