Precision Recruitment Group are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Operative / Joiner to join a well-established contractor delivering reactive maintenance works across the Oldham, Ashton and Tameside areas.
This is a genuine long-term opportunity, initially working through Precision Recruitment Group for a 13-week temporary period. Subject to performance during this period, the successful candidate will then can transfer directly to our client.
Our client is an established contractor with a strong pipeline of long-term maintenance and building work throughout the local area.
Ideally, you will have your own van, although a company vehicle may be available for the right candidate.
- Pay & Van Allowance:
- £22.00 per hour – Using supplied company Van & Fuel Card
- £23.00 per hour – Using your own van, which includes a £1.00 per hour contribution towards vehicle running costs
- Fuel used during working hours will be reimbursed weekly upon submission of receipts.
Duties will include:
Carrying out reactive maintenance and general joinery works across occupied properties and buildings
- Timber door and window repairs
- Repairing and replacing window and door locking mechanisms, including PVC and occasionally aluminium systems
- Installing and repairing finger guards and door closers
- Surveying works, fault finding and measuring for replacement doorsets and windows
- General joinery including FD30/60 fire doorsets, skirtings and partition works
- Ceiling repairs and structural timber floor repairs
- Kitchen measuring, repairs and replacement works
- Fascia board and soffit repairs
- Measuring and fitting replacement glass
- Assessing works and providing photographs and information to the office for pricing purposes
- Completing detailed timesheets including job numbers, works completed, materials used, supplier information and hours worked
- Communicating professionally with clients, building users and the office throughout each job
About You:
- Experienced Joiner / Maintenance Operative
- Previous experience within reactive maintenance
- Strong general joinery and repair experience
- Experience with doors, windows, fire doors and associated ironmongery
- Competent in surveying, fault finding and measuring replacement works
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Right to Work in the UK
