Maintenance Team Leader in Camberley, Surrey

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional with previous supervisory or people management experience to take responsibility for a small maintenance team and play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime and supporting site operations.

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities, balancing planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, plan and prioritise maintenance activities across the site.
• Own and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme.
• Coordinate an effective response to machinery and equipment breakdowns.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Manage maintenance spares and consumables.
• Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians.
• Set clear objectives, priorities and expectations for the team.
• Conduct appraisals, provide feedback and support employee development.
• Manage performance, attendance and conduct matters.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training where required.
• Build effective working relationships with Production, Engineering, Facilities and Senior Management.
• Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including downtime, breakdown trends, response times and repeat failures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in line with Health & Safety and quality requirements.
• Support compliance with relevant ISO standards and operational procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will have significant maintenance and engineering experience gained within a manufacturing or industrial environment, together with previous experience supervising or managing a team.

You will need:

• Proven maintenance and engineering experience within manufacturing or industry.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Team Leader, Supervisor or similar.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Experience conducting appraisals and managing performance.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word.
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance.
