Position: Management Accountant 

Location: Witney, Oxfordshire (Hybrid working available) 

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience  

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm

The Opportunity 

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established and privately owned business based in Witney, who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their close-knit finance team. This is a newly created position, to support the organisation's continued growth. 

As Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Director and finance team, taking responsibility for a number of companies within the group. The role offers plenty of variety and the chance to get involved in everything from management accounts through to process improvements. 

The successful Management Accountant will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, overseeing VAT, corporation tax and CIS requirements, supporting statutory accounts preparation and annual audits, assisting with payroll activities and undertaking company secretarial duties. You will also support transactional finance processes, cash management activities and play an active role in systems implementation and ongoing process improvement projects. 

This opportunity would suit an experienced Management Accountant who enjoys taking ownership, working collaboratively within a small team and contributing ideas to help improve processes and systems. The business values individuals who are approachable, proactive and comfortable working across both strategic and hands-on aspects of finance.

Requirements 

• Minimum 5 years' management accounting experience  

• AAT qualified or qualified by experience  

• Experience preparing management accounts and supporting financial reporting activities 

• Knowledge of VAT, corporation tax, CIS, statutory accounts and audit processes 

• Strong communication and organisational skills  

• Comfortable undertaking both management accounting and transactional finance responsibilities 

• Interest in systems implementation and process improvement initiatives  

• Knowledge of Xero would be advantageous
