The Role

You will be responsible for operating manual machinery and lathes, carrying out precision machining work to support the refurbishment and repair of industrial gearboxes. The role requires a good understanding of manual machining techniques and the ability to produce high-quality work.

Duties

  • Operating manual machines and centre lathes.
  • Machining components for gearbox refurbishment and repair.
  • Working from engineering drawings where required.
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating manual machines and lathes is essential.
  • Experience with gearbox refurbishment and repair is highly desirable.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic.

Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm

Please note: Standard hours are based on a full working week; however, these are not guaranteed. You will be paid only for the actual hours worked and confirmed on your weekly timesheet.

Assignment

  • Temporary to Permanent opportunity.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Standard holiday entitlement.

PPE

  • Safety boots are required.

Recruitment Process

  • Site induction before starting.

A Health & Safety Risk Assessment is in place, and any site-specific risks will be covered during the induction.
