We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Pershore.
This is a great opportunity for someone with previous purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment who is looking for a long-term temp-to-perm position.
The role will involve managing purchase orders, working closely with suppliers, monitoring material availability and supporting production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Raising and maintaining purchase orders for materials and services
- Providing forecasts and schedules to suppliers
- Monitoring supplier delivery performance
- Managing open orders and ensuring materials are available when required
- Expediting urgent material shortages
- Working with Logistics and Accounts to resolve Goods-In discrepancies
- Monitoring stock and inventory levels
- Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers
- Identifying and sourcing new suppliers when required
- Building and maintaining good supplier relationships
- Supporting improvements within purchasing and inventory processes
- Previous experience within a Buyer, Purchasing or Procurement role
- Ideally 1-3 years’ experience within a similar manufacturing environment
- Good numerical skills and experience working with budgets
- Previous experience using an ERP system
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities
- CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS would be advantageous
- Degree-level qualification would also be advantageous
- £17.95 - £19.50 per hour depending on experience
