The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing, optimising and supporting composite manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll work closely with design, production and quality teams, taking ownership of process improvements and supporting the introduction of new manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve composite manufacturing processes
• Support layup, curing, machining and bonding operations
• Design tooling, fixtures and production equipment
• Analyse manufacturing performance and implement improvements
• Investigate and resolve process and production issues
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve quality
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards including AS9100
• Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation and work instructions
• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline
• Experience within composite manufacturing, ideally in aerospace
• Knowledge of carbon fibre, fibreglass and advanced composite materials
• Experience with processes such as hand layup, RTM, AFP and autoclave curing
• CAD experience for tooling and fixture design
• Understanding of aerospace quality standards including AS9100 and NADCAP
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
• Excellent communication and teamworking abilities
