Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting the growth of a machining division with the recruitment of a Manufacturing Engineer (CNC).

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong CNC programming experience, who enjoys improving machining processes, solving production issues and finding better ways of working.

The Role

You'll be responsible for developing and improving CNC programmes and machining processes, taking work from customer drawings through to a proven, repeatable production process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and editing CNC programmes from customer drawings and models
  • Proving programmes and completing first-off inspections
  • Interpreting complex engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Selecting tooling, machining methods and cutting strategies
  • Optimising existing programmes to improve quality, efficiency and cost
  • Supporting NPI, process improvements and production issues
  • Managing CNC programme revisions and documentation
  • Supporting tooling and consumable optimisation
  • Working closely with production, quality and engineering teams
  • Developing SOPs and supporting continuous improvement projects

We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with:

  • Proven CNC programming and setting experience
  • Experience taking programmes from concept through to production
  • Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills
  • Experience with CNC software and/or controls
  • A good understanding of machining processes, tooling and setups
  • The ability to troubleshoot and improve machining processes
  • A minimum Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Mathematics

The software package isn't the key requirement. The programming experience is. Experience with systems such as Mastercam, NX, Fanuc or Siemens would be advantageous, but candidates with experience using other software or controls will be considered.
