Manufacturing Engineer / Programmer

Our client, a leader in global aerospace component manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer, to join their engineering department based in Havering, Greater London.

Purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer / Programmer

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will develop efficient, accurate and repeatable CNC manufacturing processes that support the production of high‑precision aerospace components. The Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer will create CNC programmes, tooling solutions and process documentation while driving continuous improvement to enhance quality, productivity and cost‑effectiveness across the machining function.

Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer / Programmer

• Produce accurate CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5‑axis machining.
• Design jigs, fixtures and work holdings for new and existing components.
• Define tooling, routings and process requirements to support production.
• Deliver engineering tasks on time and within budget.
• Create and maintain clear process documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement across machining and manufacturing.
• Research new technologies to support future capability.

To be Considered for the Manufacturing Engineer / Programmer

• Strong CNC programming experience across 3, 4 and 5‑axis machining.
• Proven background in precision engineering, ideally within aerospace.
• Ability to design jigs, fixtures and work‑holding solutions.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling and materials.
• Experience developing production routings and process documentation.
• Competence in problem‑solving and continuous improvement activities.
• Ability to manage engineering tasks within time and budget constraints.
• Familiarity with modern machining technologies and emerging manufacturing methods.
• Confident communicator able to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
