Manufacturing Labourer

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a well-established manufacturing business in Barnsley to recruit a Glass Furnace Cleaner to join their team.

As a Glass Furnace Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of glass furnace equipment, ensuring production can operate safely and effectively.

Job Title: Glass Furnace Cleaner

Location: Barnsley
Salary: £28,000 - £31,751 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday | Days Only
Job Type: Permanent

Duties & Responsibilities of a Furnace Cleaner:

• Clean glass furnaces, tanks and associated equipment during planned maintenance periods.
• Remove glass build-up, residue and waste materials using specialist tools and equipment.
• Carry out routine cleaning of furnace components and surrounding production areas.
• Assist with furnace repairs and maintenance activities when required.
• Follow safe systems of work and adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Work safely in a hot industrial manufacturing environment.
• Operate hand and power tools as required.
• Dispose of waste materials correctly and maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Support the engineering and production teams during shutdowns and maintenance work.
• Complete basic maintenance and cleaning records.

Experience:

• Previous experience within a heavy manufacturing, industrial cleaning, furnace, foundry, steelworks or production environment is desirable.
• Comfortable working in hot and physically demanding conditions.
• Experience using hand tools and industrial cleaning equipment.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
