Manufacturing Operative in Langley Marish, Slough

My client, a growing manufacturing company based in Slough are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Operative on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a varied role, working for a company who value their staff and offer a fantastic working environment.

The role involves a variety of manufacturing/production, assembly, and goods‑handling tasks so and would suit candidates who have some kind of manufacturing background and happy in a varied role. Generally, the role would be split approximately 50/50 between manufacturing/production and warehouse duties but may vary depending on company requirements.

Main duties:

Warehouse:

• Receiving goods and conducting visual and basic dimensional inspections.
• Processing documentation within the ERP system.
• Completing all paperwork required to maintain product traceability.
• Packing products for shipment to customers and subcontract service providers.
• Preparing shipping documentation and associated records.

Assembly/Manufacturing/Production:

• Carrying out minor and light Mechanical Assembly tasks, such as applying caps to protect fittings, pinning components together.
• Loading and unloading rumbling machines.
• Performing routine maintenance on rumbling machines (e.g., changing water, media, etc.).
• Loading and unloading wash plant equipment.
• Performing light manufacturing tasks, such as manual bending of tube components.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Ability to follow defined processes accurately and consistently.
• Competence in handling tools and light machinery safely.
• Basic computer literacy; ability to learn ERP and business systems with training.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in inspection and record‑keeping.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.

Person Specification:

• Self‑motivated, with the ability to manage workload and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Reliable and consistent, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Adaptable, able to switch between various production and assembly tasks throughout the day or week.
• Team‑oriented, yet comfortable working independently when required.
• Physically able to carry out manual tasks such as loading, unloading, and light assembly work.
• Solid work history.

Hours of work are 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch. 37.5 hours per week.

An attractive salary of £33k per annum (£16.92 per hour) is on offer for the right candidate with a salary review after probation (3 months) taking it to £35k per annum (17.95 per hour). In addition, there is planned progression and scope for increased salary in the future.

Benefits include 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
