Marketing Co-ordinator

Cooper Lomaz Recruitment Services Ltd

Marketing Co-ordinator

Location: Eye, Suffolk – Office Based
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Sector: Specialist Manufacturing

This isn't a marketing role where you'll be handed a finished strategy.

We're working with a long-established specialist manufacturer operating in a stable and growing market, supplying products through distributors, direct channels and a core stable client base.

The business is now entering its next phase of growth and, for the first time, is looking to bring marketing in-house with the appointment of a Marketing Co-ordinator.

This is a genuinely new role.

You'll be working closely with the Managing Director and commercial team to build the marketing function, develop the company's presence and create content that actually supports the commercial side of the business.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a difference rather than simply manage someone else's marketing plan, this could be a very good opportunity.

What will you be doing?

You'll have plenty of variety, with responsibility for both the planning and the hands-on delivery of marketing activity.

Your role will include:

  • Developing and delivering a structured marketing plan aligned to the company's commercial objectives.
  • Managing the company's digital presence and social media channels.
  • Creating engaging content across digital and traditional channels.
  • Producing product videos, demonstrations and visual content for online platforms and sales presentations.
  • Creating brochures, case studies, datasheets and other sales collateral.
  • Supporting the distributor network with marketing materials, product information and campaigns.
  • Maintaining brand consistency across all communications.
  • Working closely with the commercial team to understand what marketing support they need.
  • Monitoring marketing activity, engagement and results and reporting back to the leadership team.
  • Helping to establish the processes, systems and structure for the company's first dedicated marketing function.

What are we looking for?

We're not necessarily looking for someone from a huge marketing department with a narrow area of responsibility.

In fact, the opposite is probably closer to what we're after.

You need to be someone who is hands-on, commercially minded and happy getting stuck in.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous marketing experience within manufacturing, engineering, medical devices or another technical environment.
  • Strong digital marketing and social media experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills and a good eye for detail.
  • Experience creating engaging content rather than simply managing agencies to do it.
  • Some experience with filming and basic video editing.
  • The ability to take technical or product information and turn it into clear, engaging marketing content.
  • A proactive and organised approach.
  • The confidence to work closely with senior leadership and the commercial team.
  • Experience working with distributors or channel partners would be highly advantageous.

Most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable in an SME environment where you won't have a huge team around you.

You'll need to come in, understand the business, work out what needs doing and get on with it.

Why this role?

The opportunity here is pretty straightforward.

You are going to build the marketing function.

You'll have direct access to the Managing Director, genuine ownership of the company's marketing activity and the opportunity to influence how the business presents itself as it enters its next stage of growth.

It's varied, hands-on and commercial.

One day you could be working on a product video, the next producing a distributor campaign, updating sales collateral or planning the company's social media strategy.

There isn't going to be a huge marketing team telling you what to do.

That's the point.

What's on offer?

  • £30,000 – £35,000 salary
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Office-based in Eye, Suffolk
  • Opportunity to build a marketing function from the ground up
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership
  • Genuine influence over the company's marketing strategy
  • A varied role with plenty of scope to make your mark
  • The opportunity to join an established and respected specialist manufacturer at an exciting point in its growth
