Title: Master Production Planner

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire

VH Talent is delighted to be partnering with our client, a leading engineering organisation to appoint a Master Production Planner to their team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing the site Master Production Schedule and capacity planning activities, ensuring customer demand is met while optimising production efficiency and minimising inventory.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for enhancement and support the delivery of key planning objectives and performance metrics. ***Please note, this is a site based role in Leicester but activity will be for the company’s site in Finland.

Snapshot of the Master Production Planner role:

  • Support the effective implementation and continuous improvement of site management systems and processes.
  • Act as the site lead for the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, providing key supply planning input.
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule in line with customer demand and forecasts.
  • Review capacity and workload to identify bottlenecks and drive effective solutions.
  • Manage safety stock levels and ERP planning parameters in line with inventory strategy.
  • Represent Supply Chain in operational meetings and support planning activities.
  • Manage supplier and customer delivery escalations, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Monitor Supply Chain KPIs, driving continuous improvement and planning effectiveness.
  • Lead the Supply Chain team and collaborate across departments to deliver business improvements.
  • Some global travel may be required at times

You’ll need:

  • Strong awareness of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Capacity Planning, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.
  • A professional qualification in Supply Chain Planning would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within a Supply Chain environment in a manufacturing organisation.
  • Exceptional ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages and confident user of Excel
  • Willingness to undertake occasional international travel is required.
