Location: Tunstall
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing
Hourly Rate: £15.07ph
Working Pattern: Full Time Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Materials Controller to join their dynamic team in Tunstall. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute to the smooth operation of their supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control material inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage incoming materials and deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials received and dispatched, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with various departments to forecast demand and assist in procurement planning.
  • Perform regular audits of inventory and assist in the implementation of best practises for inventory management.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies in stock levels promptly and effectively.
  • Responsible for raising all Purchase Requisitions and POs for site-specific needs.
  • Ensures Purchase Requisitions for raw materials and finished goods are placed accurately and timely.
  • Monitors material levels and forecasts needed to support production requirements.
  • Manages stock (rental and sale)
  • Liaises with the Production Planner for any cylinder preparation prior to office fill.
  • Analyses material usage and demand to identify efficiency improvements and minimise waste.
  • Coordinates the collection and the return of products to 3rd party suppliers.
  • Obtains competitive quotes from suppliers not covered by a central contract or price list.
  • Collaborates with procurement, production, and operation teams to ensure seamless material flow

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of materials management:

  • Proven experience in a materials control, supply or inventory role.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Proven experience working with ERP systems for production planning and material management and SAP.
