Materials Planner

My client are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Planner (Materials Master) to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a key role within their supply chain, responsible for ensuring accurate material data, effective planning, and efficient stock management to support ongoing operations and new build activity.
You’ll play a vital part in maintaining SAP material master data, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring materials are available when needed to meet operational and customer demands.
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintain and update material master data in SAP, including lead times, safety stock, and planning parameters
  • Source and manage supplier lead time information to support accurate planning
  • Ensure correct inventory set-up and data integrity across all materials
  • Support quoting, costing, and pricing inputs through accurate system data
  • Identify and implement improvements to purchase ordering and stock processes
  • Monitor and optimise inventory levels, including high-value and critical parts
  • Take ownership of stock discrepancies, quarantined items, and warehouse-related issues
  • Support new build activities, coordinating materials and routings through defined processes
  • Run and analyse SAP reports and contribute to internal and global reporting (including US stakeholders)
  • Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, engineering, and global teams
  • Support cycle counting, audits, and stock accuracy initiatives
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in materials planning, inventory control, or supply chain
  • Experience in a manufacturing, service, or overhaul environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP (materials management / MRP), with advanced SAP capability (e.g. Global Workbench)
  • Proven experience managing material master data (lead times, safety stock, MOQ, etc.)
  • Exposure to global supply chain operations
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes and stock control
  • High level of attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
  • Confident decision-making and problem-solving ability
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to identify efficiencies
