Hill McGlynn Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading international developer of hyperscale AI and mission-critical data centre infrastructure who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join their growing team in Norway.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a forward-thinking organisation delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale data centre projects. You will play a key role in managing all mechanical construction activities from installation through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing all mechanical construction activities across major hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects, ensuring successful delivery while working closely with project teams, contractors and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all mechanical construction activities from installation through to commissioning and handover.
- Coordinating mechanical contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers throughout the construction phase.
- Managing the installation of critical mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling systems, pipework, pumps, valves, ventilation systems and associated infrastructure.
- Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, technical submittals and installation methodologies.
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring delivery against programme milestones.
- Managing inspections, testing, balancing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Working closely with project management, design, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
- Ensuring all mechanical installations meet project specifications, industry standards and quality requirements.
- Identifying construction risks and implementing solutions to maintain programme and project performance.
- Producing progress reports and maintaining effective communication with project stakeholders.
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects is essential.
- Extensive experience managing mechanical construction packages on large-scale projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of critical mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC, cooling systems, chilled water systems and associated MEP services.
- Experience managing multiple mechanical contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of testing, commissioning and project handover processes.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance construction environment.
- £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
