An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing production line machinery. The company designs and delivers complex equipment from initial concepts through to commissioning. This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D CAD design
- Prototype, test, and validate designs
- Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability
- Write technical proposals for new development projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Key Requirements:
- Background in special purpose machinery, automation, or capital equipment
- Proven experience in the full product lifecycle
- Expertise in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor)
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques
- Experience in pneumatics, moving parts and press tools would be beneficial
- Hands-on and practical approach to engineering
