Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Inverness / Hybrid – one day in the office every 3 wks
Salary: Circa £45K–£55K + Benefits
Mechanical Design Engineer required by an established and growing engineering company developing a diverse range of innovative mechanical equipment and products for specialist applications!
This is a varied, challenging role covering the full design and development lifecycle, from initial concepts and 3D modelling through to engineering calculations, prototyping, testing and manufacture.
Projects range from bespoke mechanical equipment and complex assemblies to fabricated structures and integrated electromechanical systems, offering the satisfaction of seeing your designs brought to life and used in real-world applications.
Essential:
- Mechanical design engineering experience
- Strong 3D CAD skills and ability to produce detailed engineering drawings
- Experience designing bespoke mechanical equipment, machinery or complex assemblies
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes and materials
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FEA, structural calculations or fabricated steel structures
- Background in mechanical handling equipment, hydraulics or specialist machinery
- Experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture and testing
- Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering projects
