We are looking for multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to join a well-established engineering team delivering innovative solutions across the UK nuclear sector.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to major nuclear programmes.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a range of nuclear projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll support projects from concept through to detailed design, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality mechanical designs for nuclear engineering projects
- Develop designs from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, models and technical documentation
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
- Participate in design reviews and support engineering change activities
- Ensure designs comply with quality, safety and regulatory requirements
- Support the successful delivery of complex projects within a highly regulated environment
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Experience delivering projects within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering best practice
- Ability to produce high-quality engineering documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team
Desirable Experience
- Detailed design within the nuclear industry
- Safety-critical engineering projects
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and quality processes
- Experience using industry-standard 3D CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, Creo or Siemens NX
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
