We are looking for multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to join a well-established engineering team delivering innovative solutions across the UK nuclear sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to major nuclear programmes.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a range of nuclear projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll support projects from concept through to detailed design, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality mechanical designs for nuclear engineering projects
  • Develop designs from concept through to detailed design and manufacture
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, models and technical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
  • Participate in design reviews and support engineering change activities
  • Ensure designs comply with quality, safety and regulatory requirements
  • Support the successful delivery of complex projects within a highly regulated environment

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Experience delivering projects within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering best practice
  • Ability to produce high-quality engineering documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team

Desirable Experience

  • Detailed design within the nuclear industry
  • Safety-critical engineering projects
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and quality processes
  • Experience using industry-standard 3D CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, Creo or Siemens NX
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
