Our client is an established multi-disciplinary building services consultancy with a growing presence in Belfast. Working with a range of high-profile clients across the UK and Ireland, they deliver large-scale residential, mixed-use and industrial projects, providing innovative engineering and management consultancy services from concept through to completion.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding Belfast team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on major projects while benefiting from a clear path for progression within a growing office.

Your new role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of mechanical building services projects, taking schemes from initial concept through to completion. Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Developing engineering solutions from concept design through to implementation.
  • Providing input on design strategy and conceptual mechanical design.
  • Undertaking design calculations for mechanical building services installations.
  • Producing design drawings, schematics, specifications and schedules.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry requirements.
  • Designing energy-efficient and low-carbon building services solutions.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary design teams to meet project objectives and programme requirements.
  • Managing client and design team relationships, interpreting project briefs and delivering effective solutions.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the engineering team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Ideally 5+ years' building services design experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages, with a strong focus on quality and client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of industry software such as Revit, CAD and IES.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical building services design principles and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven track record working within a building services consultancy or similar environment.#
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
