If so, this exciting role could be for you! Our client is an installer, servicer and repair of equipment mostly used in the waste and water industry. They are looking for a mechanical assembly fitter who will be part of a small team responsible for the assembly and output of completed pumps to meet customer delivery dates.     

Role responsibilities:

  • To assemble various components working from engineering drawings and BOMs to produce completed assemblies in line with production schedule and build requirements.
  • To carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing
  • Mechanically minded, with a keen eye for detail with the ability to think on their feet to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Carry out general fitting/assembly operations using a variety of handheld, power/air tools with the ability to read engineering drawings and follow work instructions, check lists, visual aids.
  • Recording and accurate completion of dimensional and quality/test check paperwork, time sheets etc.
  • The use of overhead cranes and forklift trucks to move large and heavy items around workshop.
  • The loading and unloading of vehicles as required
  • Ensuring all activities/tasks are carried out in line with all company HSEW policies and procedures.
  • The completion of other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the company

Requirements

  • Several years’ experience working in a similar mechanical fitting/assembly environment
  • Anything rotating like bearings, seals, turbine, compressors or general machinery fitting or maintenance experience
  • Experience of working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation
  • Experience in working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours
  • Experience in reading of engineering drawings, manufacturing, and quality check lists
  • Experience in completion of manufacturing and check list paperwork
  • Qualified Overhead Crane User (training will be given if required)
  • Qualified Forklift user (training will be given if required)
  • Awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities and compliance

Hours

Monday-Thursday: 08:15-16:45

Friday: 08:15-13:45

Benefits package

The role is full-time and permanent, salary range of £35,000 - £42,000 (Depending on experience).
