Our client is a well-established growing manufacturing business. As part of the continued development of the site, they are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the installation and commissioning of equipment before taking responsibility for planned and reactive maintenance once the facility becomes fully operational.

The Role
Mechanical Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment, including repairs and breakdown response to minimise downtime.
Fault Finding & Reliability: Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs across conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, rotating equipment and associated plant, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Installation & Commissioning: Support the installation, commissioning and development of new machinery and production equipment as the site progresses towards full operational capacity.
Maintenance & Improvement: Complete equipment inspections, preventative maintenance activities and planned shutdown work while supporting ongoing improvements to equipment reliability and plant performance.
Engineering Support: Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals, maintain accurate records through a CMMS and work closely with production and engineering teams to improve plant efficiency.
The Candidate
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) or an equivalent recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
- Proven mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown repair.
- Experience maintaining conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, valves and rotating equipment.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous.
- Experience with machinery commissioning, shutdown maintenance or CMMS systems would be beneficial.
