About the Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced Mechanical Project Managers to join a leading specialist pipework fabrication and installation contractor delivering major projects across London and the South East.

Our client is a highly respected MEP subcontractor, working with some of the UK's largest Tier 1 contractors on a portfolio of commercial fit-out and data centre projects, with mechanical package values ranging from £5m to £25m.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong order book and a significant pipeline of projects commencing throughout the final quarter of the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful delivery of mechanical projects from inception through to commissioning and handover.
  • Manage project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate closely with commercial, design, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Oversee procurement schedules, technical submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies where required.
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation, company procedures, and industry standards.
  • Chair progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
  • Drive quality standards across all phases of project delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Project Manager position.
  • Proven track record delivering mechanical packages on commercial fit-out and/or data centre projects.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations, including pipework systems.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and experience working alongside Quantity Surveying and Commercial teams.
  • Ability to manage project programmes, procurement activities, RFIs, technical submissions, progress reporting, and project risk.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
