Job Title: Medical Secretary

Location: Evesham Community Hospital, Waterside, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 1JT

Hours: 30 hours per week, within Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00

Pay and duration: £13.60 per hour, up to 3 months

We are currently seeking an experienced and organised Medical Secretary to join the ICS Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy team at Evesham Community Hospital on a temporary 3-month assignment.

Working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical services by ensuring accurate and timely management of patient correspondence and referrals.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Typing and processing clinical correspondence via dictation, a critical component of patient care

· Managing referrals to Trauma & Orthopaedics and Pain Services

· Uploading and maintaining correspondence on the RIO patient record system

· Providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the clinical team

· Ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and efficiency in all documentation

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • AMSPAR qualification or equivalent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proven experience of audio typing and typing via dictation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Excellent typing, organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Previous experience using the RIO patient management system
  • NHS or healthcare administration experience

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
