Location: Birmingham, B37 7YN / open to candidates nationwide | hybrid role with regular site travel

Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced MEP & Fabric Asset Manager to lead the delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the asset register across its public sector portfolio.

This is a mobile role responsible for ensuring MEP and building fabric asset data is accurate, complete, and governed in line with industry standards, including Uniclass 2015, ISO 19650, ISO 55001, and Asset Information Requirements (AIR).

The Role

You'll drive efficient, standardised survey operations, optimising resource utilisation and processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.

Providing strategic oversight of survey activities, you'll manage both internal and third-party teams while enhancing data quality, consistency, and integration. Your work will support operational delivery, statutory compliance, lifecycle planning, and audit readiness across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee MEP and building fabric asset survey delivery, ensuring the use of approved mobile data capture tools and standardised methodologies.
  • Ensure all asset data, attributes, metadata, and Uniclass 2015 classifications are accurately completed and aligned with Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and asset tagging strategies.
  • Provide technical assurance of survey outputs, verifying asset presence, specification, condition, and lifecycle data.
  • Identify data gaps, duplication, and end-of-life risks across the asset portfolio.
  • Manage data quality and integrity through structured quality assurance processes, driving corrective actions where required.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain training materials and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Produce and maintain reporting dashboards to provide structured insight into survey performance and asset data quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement of survey processes and asset data standards, enhancing efficiency and reducing rework.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Proven experience leading MEP and building fabric asset surveys across complex commercial or public sector estates.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, lighting, life safety systems, and building fabric interfaces.
  • Demonstrable experience managing asset registers with a strong focus on data quality, governance, and reporting integrity.
  • Experience leading survey teams and implementing digital survey solutions to improve efficiency, consistency, and performance.
  • Excellent organisational, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to drive best practice across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must hold full UK driving licence (car/car allowance provided).
