We are currently seeking an experienced MET Technician for a well-established accident repair business in Telford, Shropshire. This is a compelling opportunity for skilled professionals to join a reputable team committed to quality and safety standards.

Duties of the MET Technician:
  • Dismantling damaged vehicles following repair estimates and manufacturer repair methods
  • Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components safely and efficiently
  • Reassembling vehicles to manufacturer and company standards
  • Identifying additional damage or missing parts
  • Checking parts for correctness and availability
  • Reconnecting and testing mechanical and electrical systems post-repair
  • Ensuring safety-critical components are fitted correctly and securely
  • Performing quality control checks before vehicles proceed to the next repair stage
  • Working collaboratively with estimators, workshop controllers, and colleagues
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
  • Adhering to all health & safety procedures, repair methods, and company policies
Requirements of the MET Technician:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a MET Technician within an accident repair or bodyshop environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and trim systems
  • Ability to interpret repair estimates, technical instructions, and manufacturer repair methods
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good understanding of workshop health & safety procedures
  • Capable of working effectively as part of a team
  • Professional attitude and reliable work ethic
  • IMI accreditation is preferred
  • Familiarity with vehicle safety systems and modern accident repair techniques
