Salary: £31,200 - £35,360 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (40 hours per week), with overtime available
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing team, working on a variety of bespoke heavy engineering projects and producing high-quality fabricated structures and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret detailed fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Fabricate components using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Carry out a range of fabrication duties, including cutting, forming, assembling, and tack welding.
- Perform MIG welding to a high standard (desirable).
- Operate workshop equipment, including guillotines, press brakes, and overhead cranes.
- Inspect finished work and identify any non-conforming materials or defects.
- Complete work efficiently while meeting quality standards and production deadlines.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
- Complete relevant documentation and assist with additional workshop duties as required.
- Previous experience in a metal fabrication role.
- Strong fabrication skills working with mild steel and stainless steel; aluminium experience is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- MIG welding experience.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable carrying out physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and manual handling.
- Competitive pay of up to £19.00 per hour, depending on experience.
