MIG Welder / Welder Fabricator – Haverhill – Up to £18 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder / Welder Fabricator to join an established manufacturing business based in Haverhill, Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MIG Welder who is looking for a long-term position with a well-established company. You will be working in a busy workshop environment, producing high-quality fabricated components and assemblies from engineering drawings.

The company is open to candidates with a strong MIG welding background, and the role would suit someone who takes pride in their workmanship and is looking for a stable opportunity where their skills are valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG weld and fabricate components and assemblies to a high standard.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.

  • Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, cleaning and positioning.

  • Set up and operate MIG welding equipment correctly.

  • Produce clean, accurate and consistent welds.

  • Check finished work to ensure it meets required quality and dimensional standards.

  • Operate workshop machinery including Brake Presses, Guillotines and Hunch Backs.

  • Work with mild steel and other materials as required.

  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Follow all Health & Safety and quality procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a MIG Welder or Welder Fabricator.

  • Ideally 2+ years' relevant welding/fabrication experience.

  • Confident MIG welding to a good standard.

  • Able to read and work from engineering drawings.

  • Experience working with mild steel.

  • Fabrication experience would be highly advantageous.

  • Experience operating a Brake Press, Guillotine or similar workshop machinery would be beneficial.

  • Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team.
