A leading facilities management and building services provider is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join its team, supporting a national portfolio of retail properties. Your new role
As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault-finding and occasional installation work on air conditioning systems across a portfolio of retail sites, including major high street and retail park locations.
The role is predominantly focused on the service and repair of air conditioning units, ensuring all systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with contractual standards. You will work independently and alongside other engineers and subcontractors to maintain high levels of service delivery.
You will also participate in a regional on-call rota. On-call responsibilities are shared across eight regions, with one engineer covering each region at a time. This includes a £140 standby payment, plus a minimum of four hours' pay when called out. Overtime is paid at time and a half on Saturdays and double time on Sundays.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 5 years' commercial air conditioning experience.
  • Experience working within commercial or retail environments.
  • Candidates with solely domestic experience will not be considered.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (minimum requirement).
  • F-Gas Certification (City & Guilds 2079 Category 1).
  • Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems and general M&E services.
  • Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in a mobile maintenance environment.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
