Mobile HGV Technician

£48,000–£50,000 Basic + Overtime (1.5x) + Door-to-Door Pay

This is a mobile, home-based position covering Essex and East London, north of the River Thames. The territory includes Romford, Brentwood, Basildon, Grays, Chelmsford, Harlow, Southend, Braintree, Colchester and surrounding areas
 

Mobile HGV Technician: The Opportunity

This is a home-based, field service role covering customer sites. Mobile HGV Technician Candidates can be based anywhere with good access to the M25, M26 and A21 motorway network. The position is paid door-to-door, meaning technicians are paid from leaving home until returning home.

Working Hours

  • 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x
  • 1-in-9 out-of-hours call-out rota with standby allowance and overtime for attended call-outs

Key Responsibilities for the Mobile HGV Technician

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and inspections of commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs.
  • Attend breakdowns and roadside repairs.
  • Work on tippers, tipper grabs, asphalt hotboxes and vehicles from 7.2 to 32-tonne GVM.
  • Travel to customer sites using a fully equipped service van.
  • Use the R2C workshop management system (training provided if required).

Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Class 2 HGV Licence (desirable)
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV qualification
  • Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs/commercial vehicles
