We are recruiting for a MOT Technician on behalf of our client, a leading automotive service centre and tyre retailer with multiple locations nationwide, based in Newport. This MOT Technician role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking to join a busy, reputable business within the motor trade sector.

  • Structured 42.5-hour week, over five days, Monday to Friday with alternating Saturdays (8:00am-4:00pm) and weekdays off

Duties of a MOT Technician:
  • Conduct MOT tests in compliance with Ministry standards
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults efficiently and accurately
  • Assist with vehicle servicing and repairs as required
  • Support the workshop team to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency
  • Provide excellent customer service, including occasional front reception assistance 
  • Produce high-quality work within specified time frames
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
Requirements of a MOT Technician: 
  • Proven experience as a MOT Technician
  • Valid MOT licence and UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Knowledge of current MOT standards and vehicle repair procedures
  • Friendly, professional, and approachable manner
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Newport
