We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable automotive repair business with multiple sites in Barry, for the position of MOT Tester. The successful individual will play a vital role in ensuring vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. This MOT Tester role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking a day-to-day working environment that values technical expertise and customer relationships. 

Benefits:
  • Up to £38,000-£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Duties of an MOT Tester:
  • Conduct all MOT tests in accordance with government standards, ensuring safety and compliance
  • Support the workshop team with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs as needed
  • Effectively communicate with customers regarding vehicle condition, work required, and MOT outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records of testing and repair activities
  • Liaise with team members to guarantee smooth workflow within the workshop
  • Support the workshop Manager in maintaining high standards and quality control
Requirements of an MOT Tester:
  • Valid Class 4, 5, and 7 MOT testing licences
  • A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • An IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred; individuals with proven vehicle mechanic experience and valid MOT licences will also be considered
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to support the workshop in technical and customer service aspects
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to continuous professional development
