The Role
As a Claims Handler, you’ll be the key point of contact between customers, clients, and suppliers, supporting the smooth progression of motor claims from initial notification through to resolution.
You’ll manage customer communication, gather claim information, maintain accurate records, and ensure all parties are kept updated throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle new claims and acknowledge cases with business partners and supply chain contacts.
- Manage customer communication throughout the claims journey via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Gather information from customers, witnesses, and third parties to support claim assessments.
- Obtain and review supporting documentation to ensure claims can progress efficiently.
- Maintain regular communication with customers, clients, and suppliers.
- Identify customer requirements and provide information on additional services where appropriate.
- Update and maintain accurate records using case management systems.
- Handle general enquiries and support customer queries and complaints professionally.
- Manage workload effectively, prioritising calls, emails, and administrative tasks.
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ensure excellent customer outcomes are achieved at every stage.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience within a contact centre, customer service, or claims environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional telephone manner and confidence speaking with customers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- A customer-focused approach with a desire to deliver positive outcomes.
- Knowledge of UK geography would be advantageous.
