Are you a motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next position? We are looking for an experienced engineer with an electrical bias to join our client's team based in Bedford.
You will be working in a highly automated environment and will play a key part in maintaining and improving on-site machinery including conveyors, sortation systems, automated handling equipment, palletisers, bagger, labelling machines etc.
This is a great opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer who enjoys working in a modern, technology-driven environment and has strong fault-finding abilities.
Key Responsibilities for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of engineering systems and automated equipment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure smooth day-to-day performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for technical issues.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist with project planning, equipment upgrades, and installation activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports, and performance data analysis.
- Support preventative maintenance programmes and reliability initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications required for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Previous experience within logistics, manufacturing, distribution, automation, or a similar operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working with automated systems, conveyors, robotics, or warehouse technologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-moving environment.
