Container Tipping Operative
- Job Type: Ad Hoc Hours - A single 3.5-hour shift once per month on an ongoing basis.
- Location: St Neots
- Salary: £15 per hour
REED Business Support are delighted to be representing our client, who are seeking a dedicated Container Tipping Operative to join their team. This role involves unloading and organising shipments efficiently within a set timeframe. Ideal candidates will be physically fit and able to handle manual tasks effectively under time pressure.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Unload boxes from the back of shipping containers.
- Stack boxes onto pallets according to specified pallet patterns/stacking formats.
- Build pallets with a target of 50 boxes per pallet.
- Securely wrap completed pallets using roll wrap.
- Accurately number and label completed pallets as instructed.
- Ensure all pallets are wrapped securely to prevent movement when stored in warehouse racking.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area throughout the shift.
- Adhere to all site health and safety procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Physically fit and capable of extensive manual handling duties.
- Ability to work efficiently under strict time pressures.
- Excellent attention to detail for correct pallet configuration and numbering.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly safety conscious.
- Previous experience in warehouse or container unloading is desirable but not essential.
PPE Requirements:
- Operatives must provide and wear their own steel toe-capped safety boots.
- They will provide protective gloves and drinking water as needed.
Working Conditions:
- This role is a timed task; containers must be completed within a 3-hour window.
- The unloading window is limited to 3 hours due to the container driver's schedule.
