Job Title: Multi-Trade Operative Location: Bracknell
Salary: £18.67 per hour + van
Contract: 12-week temporary to permanent
Hours: Full-time
BRC are currently working with a leading housing provider who are looking for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative to join their busy repairs and maintenance team in Bracknell.
This is a great opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for a 12-week temporary-to-permanent position, with a company van provided.
The Role
- Complete a wide range of multi-trade repairs, including carpentry, plumbing and masonry.
- Carry out internal and external repairs across residential properties and communal areas.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a professional standard.
- Liaise with residents and colleagues, keeping customers informed throughout the repair process.
- Complete repairs within required timescales and aim to resolve jobs first time wherever possible.
- Accurately record work completed, materials used and job progress using mobile/tablet systems.
- Maintain appropriate van stock and use materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Carry out regular vehicle, tool and equipment checks.
- Work alongside other trades and support the wider repairs team when required.
- Follow all relevant health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota where required.
- Previous experience as a Multi-Trade Operative or similar.
- Strong skills in carpentry and plumbing, with additional multi-trade experience.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade, or demonstrable time-served experience.
- Experience working across residential properties, ideally within social housing or repairs and maintenance.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Able to work to tight timescales while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comfortable undertaking physically demanding work.
- Good understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.
- Willing to complete a DBS check.
